Astral Radio has launched its new, on-demand digital music service across the NRJ and Virgin Radio Networks. Individuals can put the service to use both online, and through mobile devices.
A large amount of content by some of today’s most popular artists is readily available through the service, including streaming music and music video, as well as special behind-the-scenes content, music news, and artist features.
Individuals can check out a lot of this content for free, but are also given the option to purchase certain items through a direct link to iTunes. Furthermore, people can create customized playlists, provide star ratings to what they’ve seen and heard, and share what they’re up to on the site with Facebook friends.
Of course, if someone just wants to listen to the radio station in which the on-demand service is connected to, that can be done as well.
In order to make this service possible, Astral Radio has signed agreements with four, un-specified major music labels (though this can be found out by just observing the site), and is working on further arrangements with Quebec record labels over the coming months.
Participating radio stations include Virgin Radio stations in Toronto, ON, Montreal, QC, Calgary and Edmonton, AB, and Vancouver B.C. Hot 103 and the Sun FM networks are also taking part in this endeavour.
